A Roanoke Rapids man was charged with assault by strangulation Thursday following a domestic dispute.

Captain Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Dareus Javon Glenn, 30, was jailed without the opportunity for bond and was scheduled for a first district court appearance this morning.

Deputies Thursday responded to an address on Carolina Rest Home Road. Corporal R. Marshall and Deputy J. Horne determined an assault occurred. 

The victim is OK, Hall said.
