Edna Martin, a team member at Biscuitville, was awarded the Halifax County Convention and Visitors Bureau’s 2024 Spirit of Hospitality Award by HCCVB board of directors.
“We are excited to be able to recognize employees that go above and beyond in customer service. Edna makes my day every time I encounter her at Biscuitville,” said Lori Medlin president and CEO of the HCCVB. “We feel that this program will help us in our efforts to grow repeat visitation to Halifax County.”
Martin has worked in the hospitality industry for many years and has been at Biscuitville since 2022.
She is a native of Roanoke Rapids and has a son age 19 and grandson age 2. “Martin really goes the extra mile with her customers and always has a smile on her face and a positive attitude,” Medlin said.
The Spirit of Hospitality Award was created by the HCCVB to honor employees in the tourism/hospitality industry who enhance visitor experiences in Halifax County.
Individuals can be nominated in one or more of several categories, including server, hotel guest relations, and retail services.
Nominees must represent a lodging property, campground, restaurant, bar, attraction, or retailer in Halifax County.
