A Roanoke Rapids man faces cocaine counts and a resisting charge following a suspicious vehicle call Monday evening.
Major Anzell M. Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Corporal N. Estes responded to a call around 10:30 p.m. of a vehicle parked in the lot of a West Tenth Street business after hours.
Estes located the vehicle parked in the lot and identified the driver as James David Franks, 39. Another person who was not charged and released was in the vehicle with Franks.
With assistance from Lieutenant A. Cash, the officers observed Franks reportedly trying to hide something behind his back. He failed to comply with the corporal’s verbal commands.
