Sidney Benjamin “Junior” Baird Jr., 75, died Friday, April 4, 2019, with his family by his side.

A native of Halifax County, Junior was the son of the late Sidney B. Baird Sr. and Ella B. Baird. A proud Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran, he also worked for many years as a maintenance supervisor at Airmold. Junior also worked on and sold golf equipment for many years.

Junior is survived by his daughter; Kim B. Hooker and her husband John of Asheville, his son; Sidney B.”Skip” Baird III, brother; Terry Baird and his wife Agnes of Wilmington, sisters; Phyllis B. Edmonds, Glenda B. Moseley and her husband Melvin ,and Carolyn B. Hux, grandchildren; Emily Baird, Sydney Baird, Katherine Hartsook, Caroline Hooker, and Graham Hooker, a great grandchild; Jude Hartsook.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April, 6, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at New Testament Christian Church with Minister Daniel West and Minister Chris Hux officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the Church.
