Eddie Lee Wells, 87, died Wednesday, May 8, 2019.
A native and lifelong resident of Halifax County, Eddie was the son of the late Joseph Carol Wells Sr. and Elizabeth Clary Wells Harvey.
A Veteran of the United States Air Force, Eddie was the Founder and former owner of Weldon Steel Corporation, and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years; Becky Jones Wells, a daughter; Betsy W. Burgess and her husband Mike of Powder Springs, GA., a sister; Rev. Sue Owens, grandchildren; Taylor Nicole Burgess and Matthew T. Burgess.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 13, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Wrenn Clarke and Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel with Rev. Nancy Stanton McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Independence United Methodist Church Cemetery in Emporia. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time.
