Claudia Harris Butler passed from this life into eternal life of October 18th.

Born in Glendive, Montana, she grew up in Spokane, Washington.

It was here that she met her husband of 54 years, Lynwood Calvin Butler, a native of Roanoke Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynwood, her son Lynwood Jr., her daughter, Tina Stokes, and her son Jeffery.

She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Clark, two sons, Rev. Father Michael A. Butler and Jonathan Butler. She was the grandmother of 11 and the great grandmother of 18.

Her husband was a member of the U.S. Air Force. She and the family accompanied him to assignments in Japan, France, Germany, and North Carolina.

They retired eventually to Roanoke Rapids. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church.

The family will receive friends and family at Wrenn Clarke and Hagan Funeral Home at 1015 W. 5th St. on Sunday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, October 22, with her son, Father Michael A. Butler as celebrant, with priests of the Diocese of Raleigh concelebrating.

Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
