On the morning of March 3rd, 2021, the Lord sent his angels to the home of Dennis Keith Lassiter, age 68, to escort him on his final truck ride through the pearly gates into Heaven.  Dennis dedicated his life to the Lord on December 25, 2016 and joined his home church at the same time, Tabernacle Baptist Church.  

Dennis married his loving wife Karen Patteson Lassiter on October 2, 1993 and continued to share their love and life together, and will someday Stroll All Over Heaven Together with their Lord!

Dennis was born in Conway, North Carolina to Willie Hilery Lassiter and Emily Bell Britton.  

He attended Northampton County schools, and had many jobs including working at the Newport News Shipyard, J.P. Steven Textile Mills and many others before moving onto his love of truck driving. 

Dennis worked for two of his brothers who owned  big trucks over the years, Robert and Donald Lassiter.  

He settled down at Glover Construction Company the second time he went to work there in 1994 and enjoyed his truck driving career until his health caused him to leave in 2014.  

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of the home Karen Patteson Lassiter, three Sons Christopher (Chris) W. Lassiter, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Wife Shannon; Son, John (Patrick) Skeens, of Roanoke Rapids, NC fiance Sara Cutler, former wife Lucy W. Lassiter of Roanoke Rapids, NC and their Son, Kenneth (Kenny) W. Lassiter, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Girlfriend Rita Boyd; and the widow of Erik S. Lassiter, Nicole.   

Surviving Grandchildren all of Roanoke Rapids, NC (6) Austin Lassiter, Diamond Skeens, John Skeens II, Dalton Lassiter, Norma (Peanut) Lassiter, and Katelynn Lassiter.  Dennis is also survived by Brother Donald Lassiter of Roanoke Rapids, NC ,Wife Carol; Father-in-law, James R. Patteson, Brother-in-laws, Mark Patteson of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Randy Patteson of Bluefield, WV, and Sister-in-law Christine Bryant of Roanoke Rapids, NC.  

Special friends and family by heart who survive him are; Alton Cain, Roanoke Rapids, NC; Glena and Gordon Bellflower of Jackson, NC.  

Dennis is survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and very close Friends who were close and dear to him.  

He was preceded in death by his grand-parents, parents Willie and Emily Lassiter; Sister, Nellie Spivey; Brothers Robert B. Lassiter and William Lassiter; and a son Erik Shane Lassiter.  

Wrenn, Clarke and Hagan Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Visitation and viewing will be held at the home at 91 Driftwood Lane, Roanoke Rapids, NC on March 5, 2021 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral will be held on March 6, 2021 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Roanoke Rapids, NC at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Wayne Marshall, with burial following in Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
