Elsie Irene Epps Morgan was born on October 11, 1928.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ethel and Ira Epps, husband Aubrey Morgan, siblings Maxine Moody, Gwen Jordan, and Warren Epps, daughter-in-law Paula Patterson, stepson Thomas Morgan, and granddaughter, Jean Patterson Somogyi.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Candie Nowell (Wayne), and children Gene (Linda), Phillip, Donald (Gay), Kathy (Richard), and Randy (Dawn). She is the stepmother to Phyllis, Patricia, and Billy. Irene is the grandmother to Lara (Eddie), Crystal (Larry), April, Misty, Tad (Pam), Eddie (Sarah), Kristopher, and Michael (Caroline). She is the great-grandmother to sixteen and great-great grandmother to five.

Irene faithfully attended the Church of Jesus Christ over the years and lived the life of a good Christian woman.

She lived her life in such a way as to set a good example for her children intellectually and spiritually. She loved reading the Bible, working in her yard, traveling, feeding birds, spending time with her family and friends, and watching “her stories.”

Irene turned to God for guidance and protection in her daily life and attributed her longevity and good health to Him.

Irene touched so many lives beyond her family. Through her daycare she showed many children and their families the same love and devotion that she showed her own family. Irene’s love for life and sweet spirit impacted everyone she met.
