Ernest Luther Webb, Sr., 93, of Pleasant Hill, NC, died Monday, August 30, 2021, at Vidant North Hospital, in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Mr. Webb was born in Northampton County, NC, the son of the late Ferris and Bertha Gordon Webb. His sister, Louise Warren and his granddaughter, Shelly Webb also preceded him in death.

Mr. Webb was a farmer for the largest portion of his life, an avid golfer, and a Sunday School teacher, at Spring United Methodist Church, for many years. He will long be remembered as the Butterbean Man, for the wonderful butterbeans he grew and shared with his family and many friends.

Surviving are: his wife of 73 years, Peggy Mitchell Webb; his son Ernest L. “Bud” Webb, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Pleasant Hill, NC; a sister Marie Warren of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and a grandson Ernest “Marty” Webb, of Pleasant Hill, NC.

The Family will receive at Wrenn Clarke & Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service, Tuesday, August 31, 2021, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

Funeral Services will be held at Spring United Methodist Church, 699 Spring Church Road, Skippers, VA, 23879, Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Bob Clyde officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
