Betty Jane Tanner Richardson, 60, of Roanoke Rapids, NC died Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at UNC Nash General Hospital, in Rocky Mount, NC.

Betty was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, the daughter of Richard Lee Tanner and the late Elsie Verdell Rowell Tanner. 

She was employed with Walmart, as a Department Manager for many years.

Surviving in addition to her father are: her husband General Grant Richardson; a daughter, Heather Stansbury and her husband David of Roanoke Rapids, NC; a step-daughter, Moleska Silver and her husband Shannon of Hollister, NC; a step-son Brandon Richardson of Hollister, NC; two sisters, Jo Ann Murty and her husband Bubba of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Nan Parrish and her husband Ken of Creedmoor, NC; special sister, Debbie Tanner of Roanoke Rapids, NC; two brothers, John David Tanner of Kinston, NC and Billy Tanner and his wife Karen of Roanoke Rapids, NC; two grandchildren Jordan Hart and Dakota Stansbury, all of Roanoke Rapids, NC; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at the Rowell-Thompson Family Cemetery, on Blythe Road, Garysburg, NC, Friday, October 15, 2021, at 2:00 PM, with Minister Earl Cain, officiating. The Family will receive following the service.
