Lloyd Ervin Bennett,  89, died May 30, 2022 in Cary, North Carolina.  

Mr. Bennett was born in Greensville County, VA, May 24, 1933, son to the late Robert Evans and Ethel High Bennett.  

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Hubbard Bennett.  

Mr. Bennett was a loving husband and father to his family and a strong leader and businessman.   

Being blessed with strong work ethics and intrinsic desires to succeed, Mr. and Mrs. Bennett established and operated Lloyd E. Bennett Inc., Bennett Lumber Company, and Bennett Trucking, Inc.   

Under Mr. Bennett’s  leadership, their companies flourished and grew over the span of 50 plus years.  

Surviving are his children:  Linda Bennett Allen (Earl), L. Ervin Bennett, Jr. (Sandi), Lynn Bennett Ward (Darden), and Kim Bennett Hyman (Bryan),and his 8 grandchildren:  Brian Allen, Lee Allen, Nicole Johnson, Jennifer Woolard, Ashton Hyman, Hayden Ward, Aaron Hyman and Andrew Hyman. Also surviving are 2 great grandchildren:  Levi Pearce and Reid Allen. 

The family will receive friends at Wrenn Funeral Home from 11:30 to 1:00 on Friday, June 3, 2022.  Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Greg Hand officiating in Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Triplet Volunteer Fire Department, 3548 Triplet Rd., Triplet, VA. 23868.
