Rufus B. “RB” Brown went to be with his savior on Friday, September 15, 2023.
RB was born on May 6, 1940 in Brunswick County Virginia to the late Rufus L. Brown and Harriet Cannon Brown.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Joyce True Brown, his parents, older brother, Wesley Brown, and Granddaughter, Harriett Nikkole Clowney.
He is survived by daughters, Beverly Clowney (Sam), and Lynne Moseley (Craig), as well as grandchildren, Jacob Bradley (Brittny), Percy Clowney (Caitlin), and Kaitlin Moseley. Also great- grandchildren, Ethan, Jaxton, and Maddox Bradley and Bella, Kinslee, and Declyn Clowney, as well as brother, Lee Brown (Patsy), and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

He was a retiree of the Textile Mills in Roanoke Rapids. RB loved being outside in nature, watching westerns, and listening to Bluegrass.
He was happiest spending quality time with his family, taking trips, supporting his grandchildren, and even spending time with the family pets.
He was a devoted member of Roanoke Rapids First Pentecostal Holiness Church for over 40 years and has served as a Deacon, Elder, and Trustee of the church. One of his favorite pastimes was meeting friends two days a week for breakfast.
He was a kind and humble man that loved everyone that he met and had many friends and associates.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Matthew Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in Old Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wrenn Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
