Jacqueline Leigh Summers, 48, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
She was born in Rocky Mount, NC in 1976 to Charles Jasper Conwell (Ida) and Carrie Moore Drewett, William Henry Drewett (Stepfather).
She was affectionately known to her friends and family as “Jackie” or “Jackie Leigh”. She graduated from Waccamaw High School in Georgetown, SC in 1994, and spent much of her life in the Grand Strand area. Not long after her parents moved back to Roanoke Rapids, she followed suit and has resided there ever since.

Jackie Leigh might not have had children of her own, but she adored her nieces just as if they were hers. She loved to bake, her cakes were the centerpiece for many family birthdays and celebrations. She was very crafty, making artificial flower arrangements, wreaths, and bows for each season.
She enjoyed gardening, often supplying others with the fresh produce born of her labors. Jackie Leigh was a natural caregiver with the warmest heart, so it was fitting that she spent most of her adult life working in the healthcare industry.
She even cared for her mother on a day-to-day basis, ensuring she had all that she needed and ushering her around town on their many errands and adventures.
She also tended to the many cats and kittens that they both had rescued, each with their own unique and quirky names. Jackie Leigh attended Smith Methodist Church. Her absence will be felt by the many lives that she has touched, and she will be missed dearly.
Jackie was preceded in death by William Henry Drewett “Bill” (stepfather), Herbert Tuck (Uncle), Josephine Meredith Tuck (Aunt), She is survived by Carrie Moore Drewett (Mother), Ricky Strum (Brother) and his wife, Sonya, Kimberly Rogers (Sister) and her husband, Richard, Henry Drewett (Stepbrother) “Billy”. Nieces Lindsey Rogers, Chelsea Rogers, and Haley Strum, and Great Nieces Huntley Brazell and Riverleigh Brazell.
A memorial service will be held on September 6, 2024 at Smith United Methodist Church at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations made to (Gofundme) to assist the family during this difficult time would be greatly appreciated. (Or the Humane Society).
