Senior Night in Charger Land ended with three wins for the hosts Friday night at Weldon High School against KIPP Pride High
What better way to honor the seniors than with all three Weldon High School Charger teams earning a win.
The JV game was filled with a lot of players getting the job done almost perfectly. Both teams played a good defensive game however, the Chargers were able to dominate under the board and got some game changing rebounds that earned them a 56-37 win for the evening.
In the ladies contest the Chargers played tonight without Travis on the court. But what makes this team unique is that they carry each other. The game was highlighted when senior K-DOT earned her 1000 points and was presented with an autographed ball and a lot of hugs and cheers. At the end of the contest the ladies secured another win with a 65-25 score.
With the start of the boys game it was easy to see that it was going to be a great night of basketball. Both teams kept the pressure going and this game was played like "if you can score, I can to". The Chargers were finally able to pull out front in the third quarter and kept the lead resulting in a 79-69 win.
The Chargers will travel to Northampton on Tuesday and will host the Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets on Wednesday.
