Although, it seems as if we've heard it all before, let's note that the 2017 RRHS graduate and former Yellow Jackets football player, is still making Roanoke Valley proud.

Dre' Terry, mathematics major at Chowan University is tackling another productive year both academically & athletically.

Approximately a year ago Terry made the headlines after he marked up 13 tackles 8 of which were solo, 1 sack, 1.5 tackles for losses and a pass break up that contributed to the Hawks first win of the season. Just like déjà vu Chowan Hawks caught their first win of the season this past Saturday. Dre' led the Hawk's defensively with 13 total tackles including 2.5 tackles for loss and a pass break up.

As if playing through a fractured wrist and minor injured ankle wasn't enough he was also forced to miss a good portion of the second quarter due to a premature ejection however it did not stand in the way of him receiving his third CIAA weekly honor in his career this being his first in the linebacker category after grabbing two honors as a rookie last season.

In addition to everything else that was going on Terry was recognized during half time as a scholar athlete for meeting the criteria of maintaining a grade point average of 3.2 or higher.

When asked his thoughts thus far Terry stated, "We have played well verses good teams through this season. They were two D1 opponents and a top D2 offensive team. We have a good team and I feel like we could really win the conference."

Once again job well done by former Roanoke Rapids High School's Yellow Jacket Dre' Terry
