The Roanoke Rapids based travel softball team Lady Venom 10u '08 head to Cary this past weekend eager to bring back the gold in the USSSA fastpitch tournament.

The Lady Venom girls would go 1-1 in pool play earning #2 seed, but didn't look back after that going 4-0 in bracket play, giving them a 5-1 record earning 54 runs only allowing 12 for the weekend.

The Lady Venom team won the Championship, thus bringing home the gold and World Series rings. 

Coach James Odom stated that "this was a great way to end the season and the 10u phase. The team will be moving up to 12u in January. I am so proud of the growth of the girls this year and look forward to facing the challenges in the next stage.
