U10 girls headed to State Championship

The Roanoke Valley Under 10 girls all-star softball team are headed to the North Carolina Little Tarheel League State Championship Sunday.

The still undefeated all-star team beat Johnston County South 3-0 Saturday morning in Smithfield and will play the championship game Sunday at 10AM back in Smithfield.

"Ashlyn Cooke was on fire on the mound for us, with 11 strike-outs," stated head coach Jen Ott.

At the plate leading the charge for the Roanoke Valley girls was Susannah Odom going 2-2 with and a RBI, Lauren Garner went 1-3 with and a RBI, Logan Storey went 1-3, and Ashlyn Cooke went 1-3 with and a RBI.
