Late Monday night Trooper R.P. Dennis reported Chavis Avent of Valentines, Virginia, was driving east on Highway 903 when she was struck by an Infiniti coming south on Aurelian Springs Road.
The driver of the Infinity ran the stop sign and crashed into Avent's vehicle. She was killed on impact.
As of this report, the Highway Patrol has still not released the name of the Infinity's driver. He was listed in serious condition late Monday night. Charges are pending.
