In an hour span on Thanksgiving the Northampton County Sheriff's Office and Gaston Police Department, which assisted in the campaign, cited one driver for driving while license revoked; one for no operators license; issued a show cause order and apprehended a wanted person, Sergeant Chris Collier of the sheriff's office transporting the person to the county detention center.
On Saturday the campaign received additional assistance from the state Highway Patrol and Seaboard Police Department, along with the other assisting agencies, Garner said.
Totals for Saturday were:
Three citations issued for driving while license revoked
Three drug violations
Two open container violations
Two child passenger restraint violations
Two no operators license violations

One uninsured motorist violation

Marijuana arrest
One person was arrested on felony marijuana charges, Garner said.
Gaston police Sergeant Tommy Staton and Deputy Chris Exum noticed drug paraphernalia in a vehicle driven by Ethan Hand of Courtland, Virginia.
A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded 30 grams of marijuana and $367 dollars in cash.
He was charged by Exum with maintaining a vehicle to store a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He has a December 3 court date.
"It was a very successful week,” Garner said. “It's a Click It or Ticket Campaign. We participate in all of them through saturation patrols and checking stations. We use these campaigns to get highway safety equipment through the Governor's Highway Safety Program.”
Points are awarded to agencies for their participation.
Garysburg Sergeant Marcel Goffington is coordinator for Northampton County. “He is doing a wonderful job,” Garner said. “We as a department will continue to do checking stations throughout the year and into the new year."
Garner also acknowledged Northampton County Sheriff Jack Smith for allowing his sergeants and deputies to participate;; Sergeant R.W. Goswick of the state Highway Patrol and his troopers' participation; Chief George Reed of the Seaboard Police Department for his participation and Staton of for his participation.
