Two in custody for Lowe's thefts; police seek identity in equipment theft

Two men who were wanted for questioning in a series of larcenies at Lowe's Home Improvement stores throughout the region are in custody.

Investigator C.L. Babb of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said one of the men is in custody in Nash County and the other in Edgecombe.

The men, Mark Hall Jr. and Michael Strickland, both of Rocky Mount, face charges of misdemeanor larceny and possession of stolen goods in Roanoke Rapids.

Babb said the men were identified through press releases, social media and other law enforcement agencies.

Lawn equipment theft

Meanwhile, Babb said the police department is trying to identify the man in the photo above who is believed to have stolen lawn equipment from a local store.

The crime occurred about a month ago, Babb said.
