Task force participating in Booze It and Lose It

The City County Drug Task Force is participating in the holiday season Booze It and Lose It campaign, which began on December 11 and continues through January.

“As Roanoke Valley families prepare to travel for their annual holiday celebrations, just be mindful of our safety traffic laws,” task force Captain A.M. Harris said. “Local departments are participating in this campaign. Please be mindful of your driving with so many families traveling during the holidays.”

During the last two days task force agents conducted saturated patrols in the downtown area of Roanoke Rapids, areas of Highway 48, and the town limits of Weldon and Littleton.

The following citations were issued:

1- Inspection violation

1- Expired registration

2- Stop sign violation

6- Driving while license revoked

1- Careless and reckless

1- Seat belt

1- Window tint

9- Written warnings

The following arrests were made:

Tiquesha Miller, 21, of Durham, was served with an outstanding Craven County order for arrest and was cited for possessing marijuana up to a half- ounce.

She received a $750 bond with a February 24 court date.

Cody Peterson, 22, of Roanoke Rapids, for possessing an open container, driving without two head lamps, driving while license revoked, possess marijuana up to a half-ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

He received a $5,000 bond with a February 24 court date.
