Three wanted in Yesteryear shooting surrender

The three people wanted in the Saturday morning Yesteryear shooting surrendered over night.

Darius Dontae Williams surrendered at the Halifax County Sheriff's Office around 10 p.m. while Quayshawn Rogers and Kesherra Graham surrendered to deputies of the Northampton County Sheriff's Office around 11:45 p.m., according to a statement by Roanoke Rapids Police Chief Chuck Hasty.

Hasty was in a meeting and not immediately available for comment as of this report.

He said the investigation into the shooting, reported shortly before 1:45 a.m. at the Becker Drive lounge, continues and more charges could be filed.

Williams was served with warrants for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by felon and discharging a weapon into occupied property causing serious injury for the Yesteryear shooting.

He was also served other outstanding warrants for assault and battery, injury to property, common law robbery, driving while license revoked and careless and reckless driving.

He received a $150,000 bond and January 27 court date.

Rogers and Graham were served warrants for assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a weapon into an occupied building, carrying a concealed weapon and injury to property.

They both received $11,500 bonds and February 2 court dates.

Hasty said Monday evening some sort of dispute triggered the matter at the establishment, which is effectively closed after the owner voluntarily surrendered ABC permits.
