Marty Stuart coming to Roanoke Rapids Theatre

Chesapeake Virginia promoter George Sadler of LGS Publishing is bringing five-time Grammy winning multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter Marty Stuart to Roanoke Rapids.

Stuart  known for both his traditional style, and eclectic merging of rockabilly, honky tonk and traditional country music will be the headlining artist Saturday March 19, 2016 at the Roanoke Rapids Theatre. Stuart has also been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1992.

Opening for the March 19th event will be Belhaven NC born  singer Don Cox. Cox began his career as a member of the Super Grit Cowboy Band Between 1994 and 1996, he released two albums on Step One Records His 1994 single "All Over Town" peaked at number 53 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and tracks chart.

Also appearing for this evening of country music is Stuarts wife since July 1997 Connie Smith. Smith is widely considered to be one of the genre's best female vocalists. She has earned 11 Grammy award nominations, 20 top ten Billboard country singles, and 31 charting albums, three of which have hit number one.  Smith became the 12th solo female vocalist and 19th woman to be elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
