RRPD blotter: December 2-4, 2016

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:


Friday December 2, 2016

• Jarmise Kyshey Rook, 30, of Garysburg, was arrested and charged at approximately 4:30 a.m. for larceny, possession of stolen goods and served outstanding order for arrest.
He received a $3,000 bond and January 20 court date.
Master Officer A. Salmon received a call about a larceny at New Dixie Mart in the 1900 block of Julian R. Allsbrook Highway that Rook allegedly took items from the store.
Officers located Rook and took him into custody.
Lieutenant J. Baggett and Sergeant M. Moseley assisted.

• Dawn Marie Tripp, 31, of Gaston, was arrested and charged at approximately 6 p.m. for shoplifting, resisting/delaying/obstructing an officer and served an outstanding order for arrest. She received a $935 bond and December 30 court date.
• Jeremy Wayne Narron, 28, of Gaston, was arrested and charged at approximately 6 p.m. for shoplifting.
He received a $500 bond and a December 30 court date.
Officer G. Colson received a call about a larceny at Food Lion in the 100 block of Roanoke Avenue that Tripp and Narron allegedly concealed items while inside the store.
Tripp gave officers a false name when she was taken into custody.
Lieutenant P. Parks and Officer H. Grimes assisted.

Saturday December 3, 2016

• Amy Lynn Hall, 48, of Roanoke Rapids, was cited at approximately 11:45 a.m. for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
She was released until her December 30 court date.
Officer S. Blythe received a call about a larceny at Walmart.
Loss prevention called and reported Hall allegedly took items from the store.

Sunday December 4, 2016

At approximately 2 p.m., during the start of the Roanoke Rapids Christmas Parade, RRPD Captain B.L. Martin and Agent D.R. Radford of the City County Drug Task Force detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle at the intersection of Eleventh Street at Roanoke Avenue.
During a search of the vehicle, a handgun and user amount of marijuana was located under the passenger seat of the vehicle.
Radford arrested and charged Marvelle Leroy Bynum, 26, of Roanoke Rapids, with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a weapon at a parade, and simple possession of marijuana. Bynum was also served an outstanding order for arrest for disorderly conduct.
He received a January 25 court date and a $5,000 bond for the weapon and drug charge and a $1,000 cash bond for the order for arrest, for which he was scheduled to appear in court today.
The handgun was reported stolen from a vehicle breaking/entering currently being investigated.
City County Drug Task Force Agents D.W. McKeel and C.A. Parker along with Roanoke Rapids Officers J. Spragins and Grimes assisted.
