While the guns Shane Joshua Roby, 35, allegedly pawned were not stolen, he still faces charges because he is a convicted felon, said Detective B.C. Griffin of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
The guns were sold within the last few months, Griffin said.
In a statement on the matter, Chief Deputy Scott Hall said Roby was arrested on outstanding warrants from Edgecombe County as well as the Halifax County order for arrest based on an indictment.
The Indictment charged Roby with three counts of possession of firearm by felon and three counts of obtaining property by false pretense, according to the statement.
Griffin said the Edgecombe County warrants against Roby deal with him reportedly selling stolen property to a pawn shop in that county.
He received a $24,000 bond and January 23 court date.
