Roanoke Valley Surgical Associates is part of the Halifax Regional Medical Center family and Thompson will be working alongside Dr. Fred Wier and Dr. James Ketoff to service the Roanoke Valley.
Thompson earned her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C., where she also completed her residency.
She has more than 20 years of experience and an extensive knowledge and expertise in the practice of general surgery including acute care, laparoscopy, minor and major trauma and surgical intensive care.
Her background has led her to practice medicine both within the United States and internationally.
Prior to coming to Roanoke Valley Surgical Associates, Thompson served as Hospital Locum Tenens at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg.
Thompson has a strong interest in educating her patients about their conditions and the surgical processes they are going to undergo. She is also dedicated to providing outstanding surgical care as part of Halifax Regional Medical Center’s commitment to be a leading partner in a healthier community.
Thompson is now accepting appointments and will begin seeing patients on April 7.
