Enfield PD, SBI continue murder probe

Enfield police Chief Tyree Davis says detectives with his department and the SBI continue to investigate a Monday night murder.

Davis said Wendell Sanders Jr. was murdered and two others were shot. Between six to 12 shots were fired from a handgun.
Davis said Sanders is believed to have been struck once. He declined to say where on his body he was shot.
Motive is still being investigated.
In a statement on the matter Davis said Enfield police and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 200 block of South MLK Avenue around 9 p.m. following a report a person was shot.
Officers located Sanders and two other gunshot victims.
The names and conditions of the other victims are not being released.
