A vehicle break-in suspect at 313 Hamilton Street left behind a calling card the Roanoke Rapids Police Department is trying to figure out.

The calling card came in the form of a white East Carolina University cap with a couple of grease spots on the bill, which has a severe curve. The cap has the ECU logo on front and the team name Pirates on back.

The break-in occurred between April 22 and April 23 when the owner returned home late after work and found the door slightly jar when leaving for work the next day.

Several items were taken from the vehicle but the owner found the cap was left behind.

Anyone with information on the possible owner of the cap is encouraged to call the police department at 252-533-2810 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
