Damage from heavy rains last week to the Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall has forced the relocation of the June 11 city council meeting to the first floor conference room at city hall on Roanoke Avenue.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. as usual.

City Manager Joseph Scherer said this afternoon the last estimate was three inches of rain fell in about an hour to an hour and a half.

While areas affected by August flooding fared well, the rain damage required the city to take all the carpet out of the Andrews building. Damage caused the building on Jackson Street to lose ceiling tiles and insulation at the back.

The city is waiting on word from its insurance adjuster before beginning repairs to the building.
