A traffic stop on Washington Avenue in Weldon Friday resulted in the seizure of 11 Xanax pills located under the hood of the vehicle.

Major Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said narcotic Agent C. Dickens and canine Deputy Matt Brown stopped Roberts Brickell Lilly of Littleton.

Mallie, the dog, detected the scent of drugs and the officers seized the tablets.

Lilly was cited for misdemeanor possession of schedule IV.
