The Roanoke Rapids based U-8 travel baseball team Carolina Sluggers traveled to Snow Hill this past Saturday for their first tournament as a team. The Carolina Sluggers team is made up of returning travel ball players and new players as well. Several of the players, played last season for the Roanoke Rapids U-8 Fishers, who this season moved up to U-9 division while several players saw their first tournament play.
The Sluggers faced Western Wake Wildcats in the first game, losing 13-3 and bounced back to beat Greene County Titans 13-0 earning them 2nd place.
Team members in no particular order: Braxton Hammack, Brayden Mills, Maddox Bullock, Peyton Clay, Arice Stewart, Cole Eure, Collin Elias, Alex Liverman, Conner Hammack and Hunt Sparks. Head Coach Jeremy Hammack, Asst. Coaches Brandon Clay and Joey Elias.
