Further investigation into a stolen weapon case has yielded the weapon, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Lieutenant Roy Rooks said in a news release that investigation by Deputy Matt Brown led to the weapon being located in Ahoskie.

The firearm was reported stolen from the Sam Powell Dairy Road area on August 16.
