A Roanoke Rapids man currently serving probation for sending lewd pictures to a boy is in more trouble with the law — this time North Carolina State University Police.

Raymond Michael Baker, 41, faces seven counts of larceny by employee and seven counts of obtaining property by false pretense.

The Halifax County Sheriff's Office arrested Baker this morning on warrants from the NCSU police.

Detective J.M. Clark of the sheriff's office said the case involved the theft of copper wire but could not elaborate.

A university police spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.

Baker was jailed in Halifax County on $20,000 bond and has a November 20 court date in Wake County.

In April Baker accepted a plea bargain that would allow him to spend three years on supervised probation and register as a sex offender in the indecent liberties case.
