Kapstone Rockies fell to Kapstone Yankees in RRYBA senior league play Friday night at Doyle field.
Both teams match up well with the Rockies wining the first meeting 2-1 and the Yankees evened up the series with a 13-5 victory Friday.
For the Yankees, Joshua Elias pitched the entire game and got the win giving up 5 runs on 4 hits, 3 walks and 9 strike-outs.
Leading the way for the Yankees at the plate were Aaron Jackson going 3-4 tripled and 2 singles and 3 runs. Rob Poythres was perfect going 2-2 scoring once and an RBI on a sacrifice fly. Colby Warren singled scored a run and an RBI. Eric Hockaday singled and walked. Kody Davis had his best game at the plate going 2-3 a triple and singled scoring once. Carson Neal drew 3 walks and scored 3 times. Elias drew 3 walks and scored twice.
For the Rockies, Cameron Rogerson got the start on the hill going 4 innings giving up 7 runs, 6 hits, 6 walks and 4 strike-outs. Jordan Collins came in relief in the 5th giving up 5 runs on 3 hits , 3 walks and 3 strike-outs. Jake VanDam pitched the final inning yielding 1 run, 1 hit, 2 walks, and 1 strike-out.
Leading hitters for the Rockies were Rogerson 2-3 legging out 2 infield hits and stealing 4 bases scoring twice. Collins was 1-3, Hamilton Morris was 1-3 with singles. Marcus Allen reached on base 3 times 2 walks and error scoring 3 times stealing 4 bases. Jordan Walker finished up the Rockies offense with a base on balls.
Next game for the Yankees is this Monday 6 pm against the Cardinals.
