The Roanoke Rapids U12 boys baseball All-stars traveled to West Raleigh Saturday to take on West Raleigh in the Babe Ruth Area 2 tournament.

The past World Series champions were to tough for the Roanoke Rapids team. Roanoke Rapids lost 17-0.

Dropping to the loser bracket, Roanoke Rapids faced South Granville. Roanoke Rapids won the match-up 17-1 in 4 innings.

Cameron Medlin was the winning pitcher pitching 3 innings and Ethan Vincent pitched 1 inning.

At the plate for the U12 Roanoke Rapids team: Colin Long, Ethan Vincent, Cameron Medlin, Ethan Dixon, Jacob Barnes, Landen Wollet, Stacy Mumford, Cody Beales, Hunter Christenbury and Ricky Lee all had hits.

The RR team returns to West Raleigh Sunday to play South Edgecombe at 4 PM.
