AMVETS Post 101 is proud to announce the 13th Annual March of Patriots and annual Veterans Day Service, Sunday November 9 at 3 p.m.

Lineup is at 2:15 p.m.

March of Patriots is more of a rally atmosphere than a traditional parade.

We all march together to show honor to all veterans, to our local veterans, to our family members who are veterans, to bring our community together, to bring our neighborhoods together, to show our pride as Americans. We encourage everyone to come out and march with us.

Wear your red white and blue, wave your flag, make a banner, carry a picture or sign honoring your veteran.

Get your church to participate, your youth group, your neighborhood, your business or co-workers, your Veterans Post or Chapter, your scout group — boys and girls — families, elected officials and civic organizations. Everyone is needed and welcomed. You don’t need to sign up in advance, you just need to show up.

Lineup will begin at approximately 2:15 p.m. in the parking lot of Kirkwood Adams Civic Center behind the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.

We will step off promptly at 3:00 p.m. and march four blocks up Roanoke Avenue from Eleventh Street Street to Seventh Street and Veterans Park.

We will then have a short Veterans Day service at Veterans Park and further honor and recognize our local veterans.

We will have patriotic music, play the various service songs and identify our local Veteran’s Organizations and their work in the community. Any questions can be directed to Jean Reaves, AMVETS POST 101, 252-673-6495 or call the Post at 252-541-2761.
