One three pointer helped change the outcome of the game.
Roanoke Rapids JV boys basketball team faced Warren County in Tuesday nights Championship game at Warren County in the Warren County Christmas Classic Basketball Tournament. A rematch from a regular season game just two weeks ago when Warren County came out with the win in Roanoke Rapids.
Well down most of the game, Roanoke Rapids Josh Elias hit a three pointer with 45.9 seconds in the game to tie it up 56-56 and headed to overtime yet again.
It wasn't until 1:47 left in the 4 minute overtime before anyone scored points and in less than 1 minute Roanoke Rapids scored 9 points and would go on to beat Warren County for the Championship 66-62.
Quincy Vann was named to All-Tournament team and Ty Simmons was named the Tournament MVP
Leading scorers for Roanoke rapids were Ty Simmons with 24 points, Quincy Vann with 11 points, Dre Terry with 10 points, James Mallory with 10 points, Cameron Rogerson with 4 points, Josh Elias with 3 points, Jordan Collins with 2 points and Tyreese Smith with 2 points.
