Fire destroyed a log home on Wright Road in the Littleton area, a firefighter at the scene this morning said.

The call came in around 9 a.m. and firefighters stayed on the scene until around 1 p.m.

It took firefighters until 11:30 to get the blaze under control.

Littleton and Rheasville were the first departments to be paged out. When Littleton arrived Davie and Longbridge were also paged.

The cause of the fire is undetermined but not considered to be suspicious, a responding firefighter said.

The occupants of the residence, located off Highway 48, were asleep at the time but were awakened by their dog. They escaped unharmed.

No further information was immediately available this afternoon.
