A woman who found her house broken into last week was allegedly assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, who then fled the area in a vehicle her 2-year-old grandson was in.

19-year-old killed in Northampton crash

A Roanoke Rapids man was killed Saturday morning in a one-vehicle wreck on Big John's Store Road in the Garysburg, Pleasant Hill area.

The three school systems in Halifax County as well as Northampton County have joined together to identify children aged 3 through 21 who have disabilities and need special education and other services.

A formal hearing will be held Tuesday in United States Court to determine the detention status of Sterling Moody, a Weldon resident who was arrested Wednesday in a Drug Enforcement Administration undercover drug operation.
