Jesse Ray “Long John” Taylor, 64, died Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. 

Jesse was born in Halifax county, September 12, 1956, son to Dean Taylor and the late Charles Taylor, Sr. 

Surviving Ray are his mother, Dean Taylor; a son, Jesse Ray Aycock; brother, Charles L. Taylor, Jr; sisters, Sarah F. Edwards and Pam Taylor; his special and beloved dog “Jack Russell.” Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. 

There will be a Graveside Service Wednesday, March 24, 2021, in Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour before the graveside service beginning at 12:30 until 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made in honor of Jesse Ray Taylor, to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
