Nancy Ann Womble Crocker

Nancy was born and raised in Chatham County, North Carolina.  She was the second child born to George Moody Womble and Maud Odell Hearn Womble of the New Elam Church Community, Chatham County N.C. In 1953, Nancy married Dean Stanley Crocker, Jr. and moved to Seaboard, N.C. where she resided until recent years. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley in 1970, her mother and father, Nancy's older sister, Rubye W. Scott and husband Scotty, Nancy's brother, George C. Womble and spouse, Treva. Also, sister-in-law Garnette Crocker Tuten and husband, Sam, and brother-in-law L. M. Stevens.  

She was a woman of faith, dignity, determination, fun, and humor. Nancy had a strong ability to persevere in adversity. Nancy was involved in many church and community activities and organizations. She was a sincere friend and neighbor willing to share her hospitality, kindness, and time to all.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Mary Dean Crocker Oliver and husband Keith; Nancy Anne Crocker Tillery and husband Jim; three grandchildren Laura D. Oliver, Corey B. Oliver, and Todd D. Bowman; and survived by one sister, Dorothy W. Stevens of Cameron, N.C. Many special nieces and nephews, each one of them special to their Aunt Nancy.

The family is appreciative of the special devotion, care, and love provided by Magnolia Gardens caregivers and staff.

Arrangements are being handled by Wrenn Clarke and Hagan Funeral Home with visitation at their facility Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.  Graveside services will be held Thursday October 26, 11:00 a.m., Town of Seaboard Cemetery, services will be conducted by Rev. Steve McElroy.
