Elizabeth was born February 3, 1932 in Weldon to the late Will Gilliam and Alice Padgett Gilliam. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Lyles; and her son, Douglas Lyles.

She was a member of Good News Baptist Church and worked in the textile mills.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Danny Lyles and his wife Diana of Roanoke Rapids, Larry Lyles and his wife Brenda of Halifax, Alvin Lyles and Shari and Allen Lyles both of Roanoke Rapids; her grandchildren, Danny Lyles, Jr., Tina Lyles, Crystal Lyles and Jennifer “Jenny” Lyles Jordon and her husband Brandon; her great-grandchildren, Danielle, Ashley and Cierra Agoglia, Steven and Haleigh Lyles and McKinley and Elizabeth “Lily” Jordan.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Jimmy King officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 22, 2018 from 6:30 – 8:30 P.M. at the funeral home and other times at her home.
