Mr. Shaw was born December 11, 1944, in Halifax County, the son of Willie Jessie Shaw and Nellie Mae Carlisle Shaw.
He served in the US Army in Vietnam, was a retired security guard and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sister, Brenda Gail Edwards of Emporia, VA; brothers, William Wayne Shaw of Roanoke Rapids and Troy Leon Shaw of High Point; several nieces and nephews; also great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Hazel Ferguson, Yvonne Lambert and Jean Moore; and an infant brother, David Shaw.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
