Henry Carlton Glasgow

Henry Carlton Glasgow, 64, died January 17, 2014 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Mr. Glasgow was born in Halifax County, November 15, 1949, to the late Henry Lee Glasgow, and Lois Whitehead Glasgow.  Mr. Glasgow graduated from Weldon High School as well as Halifax Community College.  He was a United States Army Veteran having served his country in Vietnam, where he was in the Military Police.  He retired from the North Carolina Department of Corrections at Tillery.   He was a deacon and trustee at Good News Baptist Church.  In addition to his father, Mr. Glasgow is preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Melissa Glasgow.  

Surviving is his wife, Mittie McGowan Glasgow, of the home; mother, Lois Whitehead Glasgow; daughter, Jennifer Glasgow Banks and husband, Andy and sister, Susan Glasgow Genung.  Also surviving are his niece, Michelle Genung and nephew, Michael Genung.  

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.  Rev. Jimmy King and Rev. Rick Gaskins will conduct funeral services Monday, January 20, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Good News Baptist Church with interment to follow in Community Center Baptist Church Cemetery.
