Donald Malton Wilson

Donald Malton Wilson 59, was born October30, 1954 in Roanoke Rapids, NC and died January 31st at home in Cary, NC.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 2nd at 2:00 at Weavers Chapel Methodist Church in Littleton with Pastor Stan Lewis officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 prior to the service.

Donnie loved his family and spent much of his time researching genealogy and family history.  He loved sharing what he learned with family at reunions and making presentations to historical groups. He was a member of the SCV and MOS&B and loved participating in battle reenactments in NC, VA and Gettysburg.  This led to him being in the filming of “Gods and Generals” which he considered a great honor.  

He was preceded in death by his father Bryant Malton Wilson and sister Gwen Wilson Childers. He is survived by his daughter Nicolette Barber and husband Tyson; two grandchildren Addison and Nicholas, Mooresville; mother Lurleen Walker Wilson, Wilkesboro; and brother Darrell Wilson and wife Linda, Reidsville; and many nieces and nephews; girlfriend Patti Bostrom and her son Holland.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Weavers Chapel Methodist Church, 1692 Weaver’s Chapel Road, Littleton, NC 27850  or Wilson Family Cemetery, c/o Lurleen Wilson, 1508 Dogwood drive, Wilkesboro, NC 28697
