Wendy Campbell Lucy

Wendy Campbell Lucy, 56 of Miles Street, Roanoke Rapids died Friday, February 21, 2014 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Lucy was born November 26, 1957 to the late Adam J. Scott and Maggie Eason.  She was also preceded in death by her sister: Mollie Donaldson; her brother: John Justice Davis.


She loved being “Ma”. Her days were filled with joy by the love she received from her grandchildren.  They were her sunshine and her life. She cherished every minute with them and loved being called “Ma”. Wendy enjoyed doing crafts with the grandchildren and hanging out with the “Granny Gang”, baking, crocheting, knitting, cooking and working in the garden with David.

She was a longtime member of Lakeview Park Baptist Church now Victory Baptist Church.  She was a former employee of Roses, Popes, Beverly’s Hair Styling and Harrups Trucking Company in Emporia.

Wendy is survived by her husband: David Lucy of Roanoke Rapids; her children: Johnathan Crawford and his wife Konnie, Christopher Crawford, Nathaniel Crawford and his wife Amy all of Roanoke Rapids, Shawn Lucy and his wife Crystal of Emporia, VA and Shannon Baker and her fiancée Will Ivey of Alberta, VA;  her grandchildren: Cierra and Jr. Crawford, Caleb Crawford, Jacob and Madison Crawford all of Roanoke Rapids, Wyatt, Jesse and Haley all of Emporia, VA and Kristen Ivey of Alberta, VA; her sisters: Linda Hobbs and her husband Billy, Gloria Pearson and Teresa Long and her husband Steve all of Roanoke Rapids; her brother: Jerry Scott and his wife Lenora of Roanoke Rapids.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.  Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Dolphin, VA.  The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:30 P.M. Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son, Nathaniel and Amy Crawford, 122 Natures Trail, Roanoke Rapids.
