Yeah, sure, free them all.

That's what we hear you saying.

They're innocent, says you, good people, salt of the earth even.

There were really no victims, is what you say, or were there? Were the public who trusted them to protect and serve, honor the oath they took with hands on the Bible not victims? Were they not betrayed?

Yeah, go ahead and free them.

Let them go, you scream. It was entrapment is what you say, the meddlesome FBI getting into affairs that were none of their business.

Not so fast there, bud. You're thinking the feds simply came down here and started recruitment?

Did it ever enter your mind there was possibly corruptible activities going on before the G-men came swooping down?

So, yeah, go ahead and let them go.

It was a mistake, you say, so free them. Everyone makes a mistake, but do people really make mistakes for nearly two years straight? Maybe they do. Most of us learn from them.

So, OK, pal, go ahead and petition the federal government to let them go.

Let them go — their families miss them. I remember that my grandmother missed her youngest daughter who was locked up in a Virginia women's pen. Somehow my grandmother, as heartbroken as she was, made it through the ordeal.

So yes, they should be free.

Free them all, those 13 who still remain in federal custody until their trial. A child weeps for their daddy, the family man, who with tender mercy nurtured you, showered you with love and affection. Was the love and affection there while protecting drug shipments armed? Was that mercy there while protecting drug money armed? You tell me, you're the one who says they should be home.

Please go back and give them bond. No one was murdered, that's what you say, that's what you believe.

Yeah, no one was murdered, but don't the charges imply it could happen since they were filmed carrying guns while doing a job that you say hurt no one?

Give them bail, you beseech. Funny, you say the same thing about ruthless murderers, bestowing them with the street title that contains a racial epithet, the N-word you say is a badge of honor. I think you just want anyone who goes on a crime spree to be free because you are indifferent to society.

Get them out of fed custody. There are more serious crimes that cops should bother with.

Yeah, that's true, but you haven't thought about how some of those serious crimes they were investigating have now become tarnished and people are likely to go free because of it. That doesn't matter to you as long as they go free and victims of crime don't get their justice.

You want them to go free. So, yeah, alright, let's do this thing, because you think there's nothing wrong with what they did. I think if they were as nice, kind, gentle and loveable as you say they are, they'd be out on the street protecting citizens, not wasting away in lockup wishing they could get it all back and not succumb to the temptress Greed.

That's just my thought process, so yeah, let's free them all, what do I know? You're right and the G-men are wrong — Lance Martin
