Jen Ott to be named new Softball Head Coach

RRSPIN has learned that Manning Elementary teacher Jen Ott will be new girls softball head coach at Chaloner Middle school this Spring 2014. Coach Ott is married to Timmy Ott and lives in Garysburg they have two children, daughter Brooke and son Bryce.

Coach Ott has coached for the past five years in sports such as t-ball, soccer, and softball. She has played the game of softball as well at Chowan University. She is and active teacher and parent, she is starting her twelve year in teaching at Manning, eleven in kindergarten and will move up to fourth grade this school year.

She has been a Cub Scouts Den Leader for the past two years and for the past four years she has been a Girl Scouts Troop Leader.

When asked about her becoming the new Chaloner Middle softball coach, she stated "I am super excited, I am glad for the opportunity to coach on a higher level of competition."

Coach Ott added, "I am intimidated a little, because there is no way I can fill Retired coach Jack Goldberg shoes. He is the reason I went to Chowan to play for him when he was head coach there and he retired before my first season."
