Former Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jacket stand-out softball player shines in college Sunday.

 

2013 RRHS graduate Caitlin Ewers now a freshmen at Mount Olive College earned her first home-run of her college career. And she made it count Sunday in game two of a double header against Queens college in Charlotte NC.

In top of the third inning with Mount Olive down 2-1 and bases loaded, Ewers hit a drive over left center field for a Grand Slam home-run putting Mount Olive up 5-2. Mount Olive never lost the lead from that point on, winning game two 13-12.

Ewers playing the DH position batting ended the day with 3-4 hits at the plate and 5 RBI's. In 14 games played Ewers is holding a .500 batting avg.
