RRHS picks up a road conference win against the NC School of Science and Math by a score of 11-0
Kyle Vincent picked up the win on the mound. He pitched 4 innings giving up only 1 hit and striking out 9 batters. Cole Phelps pitched a perfect 5th inning striking out all 3 batters he faced.
Leading Hitters for RRHS: Caleb Pratt had 3 hits on the day. Hunter Godwin had two hits including a bases clearing triple and 4 RBI. Dylan Allen had 2 hits including a triple and 3 RBI. Ryan Williams hit a long 2 run homerun over the 30 foot high right field fence.
"This was a much needed win for us. We had struggled a little bit of late and needed to come back strong and we did that today. Kyle and Cole pitched well. The defense made all the plays behind them. And finally our bats came around and we got some timely hits with runners on base. If we keep playing like this in all 3 phases of the game then we will be alright down this stretch run," said coach Mark Snead.
RRHS improves to 10-4 on the season and 7-2 in the conference. The next game for the Yellow Jackets will be on Friday May 2 at Warren County. The JV game starts at 4:30 with the Varsity game to follow.
